at what level of classification (K-P-C-O-F-G-S) do organisms share the most common characteristics?
at what level of classification (Kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus, species) do organisms share the most common characteristics?
Please tell me! I need it for my Final Review for Biology (then I am going to make flashcards)
Also, if you know, what is the defenition of evolution (10th grade bioloy wise, not the whole religious/scientific battle definition)
can “broadest category” be used to say “level of classifications in which organisms share the most common characteristics”?
The levels of classification become more similar as you go through the levels. So, kingdoms are the most general and species are the most specific.
Consider the kingdom Anamalia. We are members of that kingdom as are insects. Humans have similarities with insects that put us in Anamalia and NOT in the kingdom Plantae, fungi, monera, or protista.
Homo sapien (our human species), has many more similarities within the species than does it have with insects.
So, again, as you go through the different levels of classification the most general is kingdom and the most specific (organisms are more similar) is species.
Evolution is process by which organisms have changed through time to become the organisms they are today. Do you not know how to use a dictionary?
